Following two successful seasons in the LEAFA Sunday Morning League, the 2011/12 season saw ESAFC move to the more competitive LEAFA Saturday amateur football leagues. The move proved fruitful with Southern claiming promotion at the first attempt and almost brought cup joy with the team narrowly missing out on the Millar Cup Final.
The end of season awards were dominated by ESAFC's top goal provider and top goal scorer, with Chris Strother (Player, Players Player) and Gary Moyes (Top Scorer, Goal of the Season) picking up two awards each. Stephen Wood capped his best season for Southern by collecting the award for Most Improved Player.
All in all, a successful season for the Rossoneri and another step up the ladder for a club on the up.
