Having a large squad this season it is important for fairness to outline the basis on which players will be selected for matches.
Attendance and performance at training is the primary consideration for the coaches in choosing the match day squad although recent match performance will also be a factor. Under normal circumstances, and unless there is a very good reason, non attendance at training will preclude selection for the starting line up in the next match and may also result in exclusion from the match day sixteen.
The starting eleven for any match will be decided on the basis of each player's recent game performance, training performance and any tactical considerations required to deal with the opposition. All sixteen players will normally play some part in a match although there may be some situations, particularly in tight games, where it is not possible to play everyone selected for the squad.
A player's chance of selection will be compromised by letting themselves and their team mates down. Turning up for matches in no fit state to play, withdrawing from the squad at short notice, failing to turn up or behaving inappropriately when representing the Club are examples of this.
