The club was started in 1981 so this year the club will be enjoying 25 years in local football
Over the years we are very pleased to have had a degree of success with the 1980's and early 1990's being the highlight of our short history. The "Role Call" of past players who have worn our colours is very impressive and "some" are listed below:-

John Heffer - Southend/Leyton Orient/Barking/Great Wakering

There are of course many more that and their contribution to the Ekco Club has been much appreciated.
This season has brought many changes to the club, a girls team and a now a senior team. Hence the change from Ekco Whitecaps BFC to Ekco Whitecaps Football Club. This should mean we will be serving the local community in sport for a long time in the forseeable future.
(takem from http://ekcowhitecapsfc.co.uk/page2.htm)
James harris, Mike hall and Danny Proctor all played for Ekco Whitecaps 06/07 season under former manager John Proctor who won 9 out of 14 games while he was in charge but left the club before the season ended due to certain players attitudes after john left the club, the team only managed one win out of 9 games showing what impact he had at the club
So the 3 players and new skipper Dean McCall decided they wanted John back in charge so we formed Ekco 2nds after persuading john to take charge of us and he will now led us to the title
After winning our league div 9 in our first season and reaching the Ashingdon Cup final which still needs to be played we have decided that we want to play in alot higher league but couldnt do this unless we took over as Ekco first team who was in Div 7. After agreeing with there manager and Ekco Chairman we got the go ahead to become the first team and will play in div 4 for the 08/09 season.
