After being thumped 3-0 at Home to Fleetdown on the opening day it looked as though all the hope and expectation of the coming season was going remain exactly that.

But things wer e turned around very quickly which saw Palace go on a run losing just twice in their remaining 21 league games and just once after November.

A 2-0 battering of title challengers Forest Hill Park, away from home in April looked to have given Palace the edge in what had become a 2 horse race. Although a 5-2 reversed result against the same side on 3rd May set things up for a nervy end to the season.

With promotion sealed with 2 games remaining Palace were left needing 6 wins from their last 2 games...3 points from the 1st meant Palace needed a single goal win against the already relegated Meridian FC (the only side we had failed to beat this year)...however an embarassing goalless draw was all that could be conjured up as the Palace lost the league by 2 goals.

A disappointing end to a great season...we would have taken promotion at the start of the year...and that's exactly what we got.
