Despite the photopraghic evidence here to the contrary, Coxy doesn't have a criminal record and is generally regarded as a good bloke. Rumour has it keeping his appearance the way he does is just a way to avoid a kicking if you live in Middlesbrough.
Quick and determined, Coxy has been organising our defence since the start of the club's history, throwing in a few mazy runs from the back when he gets bored. For a man so dominant in the air at the back, he has a remarkable inability to score headers from corners, though he remains the team's leading own-goalscorer. He is particularly tough to beat one-on-one, with last ditch tackling also a speciality.
Just occassionally, Coxy turns up looking like he's only had two hours sleep and performs accordingly, but would you argue with him? Not on the basis of that photo.
At his best: Sol Campbell in his prime
At his worst: a cross between Ramon Vega and Stuart Nethercott
