Epsom Athletic

Epsom Athletic was formed by a man called Paul Burstow who vowed to reach the combined counties, back in 1996.
The team was then made up from friends & family. Our 1st season, we started out in the Sutton & District League Division 4.We gained promotion in our 1st season, we also then made light work of Division 3.
After the next two seasons we had lifted the Division 1 title,on the way drafting a few players in & out. This team was ready to enter SSEC Intermediate leagues. We then had to start up a reserve team which would go into the Junior section.
The 1st team spent 3 seasons in Intermediate 3 always finishing in the top half.We came 3rd in season 2002/2003 which was good enough to go into Division 2.The following season we came runners up in the league & in the Senior league cup, being beaten by a good team in Guildford Old Boys(twice).
Two seasons later after finishing 3rd in our 1st season in Division 1, we won the Senior league cup & were finalists in the 2005/2006 Surrey Intermediate cup, beaten by Holmsdale.
The 2nd team also spent 4 seasons in Junior 4 before coming runners up in 2004/2005.Now the 2nd team look stronger than ever, applying there trade in Division 3.
Epsom Athletic quest is still on in reaching the combined counties.
