This Friday friendly was played against a Chelsea Elite team that were unbeaten all season but somehow that didn’t seem to bother the Wizards in the slightest. The Wizards not only stepped up to the challenge but stole the show with a very polished victory.

The Wizards were two up within minutes; a pair of identical goals scored by Mason who got on the end of Ollie’s slide rule crosses. The Wizards maintained a steady rhythm and looked good on the attack but an accomplished Chelsea kept niggling away and managed to nick a goal before half time.

The Second half saw some tactical changes but no loss of service and not before long, Ollie forced the ball in to the box which ended in a Chelsea defender scoring on the Wizards’ behalf. Tommie’s move to left midfield was inspirational and he played his socks off to cause problems every time he got the ball. Marco came on for Mason and just when we thought we had seen the best the Wizards could offer, De Rosa Junior picked out Master Culver who released a thunderbolt which sailed in to the top right hand corner!

It finished 4:1 in the end - a proud performance which underlined that the team is mature enough to graduate to the challenges of the Under 10s level...
