Essex Royals V Thaxted Rangers

We started off on full steam with brilliant play by Jamie who shot in an incredible early goal 1-0.
Thaxted came back but some good tackling by Joe Newton and James C averted a possible goal.
Thaxted then got a run with the ball but it was stopped by Thomas’s great tackling.
A tremendous run and tackle by Sam caused Thaxted to shoot wide.
Jamie, steaming ahead, had another shot at the goal but it was saved by the keeper.
Thaxted gained possession but again, Jamie, firing like a rocket, got stuck in with a good tackle and pass to James H, who shot just wide.
Some great tackling by Dan seeing off the opposition.
The ball back with the Thaxted players but a possible goal was averted with some great tackling by Joe N and Thomas.
Royals then got a run with the ball and James H shot just wide.
A corner, taken by Thaxted, saw Sam defending well and booting the ball back up pitch.
John then came on and got straight into the game, seeing off a shot by Thaxted.
Lewis charged ahead and made a good pass to James H, who took full opportunity of this and shot, but just wide. Good try!
Thaxted battled on with a shot but James C came out and saved. They shot again but it went just wide.
An offside kick was then taken by us and Jamie raced ahead and yet again, shot in a brilliant 2nd goal. 2-0 Well done!
We again gained possession and a Stephen shot hit the bar.
Thaxted then gained possession and shot in a good 1st goal 2-1
Then "throw in" by Thaxted resulted in their 2nd goal 2-2.
Some great passess made by Frankie to both John and James H
John came back but his great shot was saved by the keeper.
James H then tried a header but it was saved by the keeper.
Half time whistle blew 2-2.
2nd half saw Ben G on and Dan back on who went into the game with great vigour, displaying some great tackling and passing to Stephen, who in turn passed to James H, who shot Ahh just wide but a great try.
Thaxted got a good run with the ball but James C came out and booted the ball back down to our players.
Another Thaxted shot was stopped by John and moments later some more great defending with a good header.
Thaxted then gained possession and shot but it was saved by James C.
They got another run with the ball but Joe C’s great defending saw the ball back with us. In the following minutes we also saw Joe C make a number of good passes to other players.
Eventually Thaxted gained possession and shot but James C made a brilliant save.
They shot again â€" just wide.
But eventually they seized an opportunity and shot in a 3rd goal 3-2
Joe N came charging in with a great shot that went just wide.
A corner kick was taken by James H, who’s shot well but just missed the goal.
A free kick was taken by John who had a good shot at the goal but unfortunately just wide.
Thaxted charged forward and James C saved a shot however, minutes later, they again gained possession and shot in a forth goal 4-2.
They shot again but James C made a good save.
Then they seemed to get past us and seized the opportunity to shoot in their 5th goal.
Some great passing between players and some brilliant tackling by Joe N saw the ball back with us.
Thomas then had a great run with the ball and saw off the opposition, resulting in a corner to us. Although we were unable to score we saw some good passing between the players.
A possible 6th goal was saved by James C who leapt out and grabbed the ball.
Although we didn’t win we are improving all the time. Well done to all the boys.
