Sun 16 Nov 2008  League
Benfleet Youth FC Lions 0
Under 7's Lions 6
Taylor (2)
Joshua P (1)
Dylan (1)
Kieran J (2)

Our 3rd league arranged away match against Benfleet Youth Lions was played in cold wet and muddy conditions.

The match:
The team started off with James P in goal, Adam and James H at the back, Ben, Joshua and Taylor in the midfield and Kieran up front.

Captain for the day was Ben.

A fantastic display from all the team and the game where all the team played at their full potential and showed how good they can be.

1st half

The rain never stopped and the pitch was a mud bath but neither stopped the team from playing so well. Within a minute we were 1-0 up. A run down the right and fantastic pass from the right by Kieran gave Taylor the chance to shoot into an empty net. A few minutes later and we were further ahead with almost the same move. A move down the right by Kieran and pass into Taylor who let go with a good shot to beat the goalkeeper. 2-0. Josh, with his new boots, was playing really well in the midfield, burst through the middle and drilled an impossible shot passed the goalkeeper for 3-0. Individual skill from Kieran carved out another chance which he took with aplomb for 4-0

What a great 1st half.

2nd half

Ben went in goal, James P went in midfield, Abbie went up front for Kieran and Jamie swapped with Jamie at the back..

The team carried on from the 1st half. Dylan was playing well on the right, James P was strong in midfield and Josh continued to play well on the left. About 7 minutes into the half we added to the score. Abbie made a determined run down the left and the ball went across the area for Dylan to finish. James P nearly capped his appearance on field with a great shot that just missed and just near the end the ball got stuck in the mud and Kirean hit the ball over the line for his 2nd of the match.

A fantastic display by all the boys who were all well up for the game and got the victory that was well deserved and made up for the result from 2 weeks ago.

The man of the match award went to Ben for a great 1st half and some great saves in the 2nd half. Special mention for Josh who played really well for the whole time he was on. I might have to buy you new boots more often and Kieran for another fantastic display.

Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and supporters of the team for your commitment and dedication towards the team
