Today was one of those games we would like to forget when the girls never really got going.

Crosby only had 7 players, so it was advantage Euxton from the start. But Crosby defended defiantly and caught us on the break to score a soft, poorly defended cross, which gave Crosby something to fight and hold onto which they did.

Goal scoring chances where at a premium and, only in the last few minutes did we create any meaningfull chances, but it wasn’t to be.

Although this performance was a disappointment, it has to be taken into context over a long hard season, as this squad of girls have come on leaps and bounds since the dark days of September’s heavy defeats. The spirit throughout the campaign has been excellent and regardless of the setbacks we have suffered, the girls turn up every week and have a go, which is what it is all about.

I am very proud of this group of girls and can’t wait for the start of the new season when, hopefully, we will see another improvement in their development of this wonderful emotionally draining game. Megan was girl of the game in this the last game of the season and she epitomises the strengths of this team with her doggedness, effort and unassuming nature.
