Eythorne Rovers childrens football club was first established in 1983. Since 1994 our current Chairman John Bagley M.B.E. has run the club with the help of his sister, Mrs Jackie Smith, and his mother, Mrs Ann Bagley. Chairman John received his M.B.E from Prince Charles in 2006 for services to youth football and the community over a sustained period of time.
The Club currently boasts players, at under 14 level, from the local villages of Elvington, Eythorne, Whitfield and Dover. The season 2009/10 we will have two 11 a side teams at under 14 level playing in the Parker Steel League. We are an FA Charter Standard Club and have all relevant Child Protection Policies and FA insurancies in place.
The Rovers won promotion to Division 1 last year, and the Colts gained promotion in their first season with us.
The club achieved FA Charter Standard for the first time on 17th July 2008.
The Club have been nominated for the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2009.
Also in 2009 Master Daniel Smith, age 13, won the KENT FA Young Volunteer of the Year Award. This has made everyone at the Club very proud, as this a highly prestigious awrd for a small Club to win and Daniel was up against volunteers up to the age of 18.
