Overview Of Fab Football's Academy!
21 Oct 2010

Overview of Fab Football's Academy:

Our unique programme has been designed to develop the current standard of English grass root soccer, thus allowing all players to reach their maximum potential.

When the Academy was first introduced our aim was to work with the children from the ages of 6-12. Throughout these six years our goal is to educate the children in every aspect of football, from the food they eat, the way they train, their preparation, attitude, their tactical awareness and most importantly the type of football they play. Each age group is assigned a coach who will work very closely with their team throughout their time at Fab Football.

We believe in a system that maximizes the skill level of every player with a disciplined structure that has a continental feel with an aim for perfection.

U7's:

At Under 7 level, the focus is on mastering control and ball skills ensuring a sound foundation is set for future development. The children are required to carry out their training once a week, in addition with a few friendly matches, ready to take them to the next level.

U8's:

When the team reaches Under 8 level they play in the rural friendly league. Our main focus is not on winning but on ensuring each child understands the tactical side of the game, where we focus on skill, flare and happiness with the ball at ones feet. This makes us unique in comparison with our opponents, whose main focus is results and winning.

U9's:

Once they reach the Under 9‘s the team train every Monday and Wednesday evening for an hour and 15 minutes. The coaching sessions will still have a key focus on technique, yet will also look various tactical and physical aspects of the game. i.e. Defensive Shape. We work very closely with outside agencies such as Sprint Coaches and Dieticians.

U10's and U11's:

Throughout their time at Under 10’s and 11’s, the team continues to play in a rural friendly league. The training increases to twice a week with the main focus on various physical attributes, along with developing a great understanding on the game, yet still have a focus on more advanced technical skills.

U12's:

Finally, once they reach the Under 12’s, the Academy side is entered into the New York Cup, USA. Training will still continue at twice a week, with a greater focus on weaknesses and tactical awareness and understanding as they will be competing in 11-a side matches. Upon arrival back in England the course will be finished where the boys will be sent on trial with professional clubs or move into our Fab Football Advanced Centers (13-16yr Olds).
