Fareham Town FC - Results and Scorers

Matt Parr's first full season in charge, and whilst the first team had no silverwear to show for it at the end of the season, it was all in all a succesful season.

Fareham finished in 6th position, their highest since John Gittens time in charge in 2004/05.

In the Cups it was a mixed bag.

In TheFA Cup local rivals Moneyfields knocked us out at the first stage.

In the FA Vase there was heartbreak at Sussex League Whitehawk. 92 minutes on the clock and Fareham were 2-1 ahead when the hosts were awarded a controversial penalty to level it up and subsequently score the winner in extra time. Whitehawk then went on as far as the semi finals.

In The Hampshire Senior Cup - A 2nd round exit to Southern League AFC Totton. The 1st round saw a historic 1st for Town when they beat Alresford Town in a penalty shootout. This was the 1st time Fareham have won a penalty shoot out.

In both the League Cup and Russell Cotes Cup Town succumbed in the 1/4 final stage.

For our reserve team, Congratulations on winning the final Wessex Combination Division 2. This despite awful fixture scheduling followed by a period of awful weather.

For our fledgling U13's sides, both had excellent debut seasons under the Fareham Town umbrella.

For the Saturday side, they finished 3rd in the League, won the League cup 3-1 against VTFC (Who remained unbeaten in the league all season) and they also made the Hampshire Cup final when 1 player in the Compton side was the difference.

The Sunday side after struggling to get to grips with the new level of football eventually found their feet and finished an admirable 4th place in their 1st season and also made the Semi-Finals of the League cup.

Roll on 2010-2011.
