A cold wet sunday afternoon, standing watching a football match against California scorpions was the last place anyone wanted to be , especially after how well California played in our previous meeting, But the Eagles players seemed well up for the match and after warming up in a snow storm, they started the match looking the more comfortable team, with an early effort coming close from Mason M after Ben A had headed the ball through to him, this was followed by a low shot from Jordan W , but it didnt take long for California to almost take the lead, only to see Ollie G clear the ball off the line. but it was California who finally took the lead on 11 minutes 0-1. Eagles didnt let there heads go down ,and pressured , which paid off 5 minutes later and Mason M equalised 1-1. The Eagles were now on the front foot and it didnt take long before Ollie G put the Eagles 2-1 up. California then had two scoring chances both superbly saved by keeper Nicky L .Towards the end of the half Reece W had a header come close ,but the half ended 2-1. The second half started, and again it was the Eagles who looked most comfortable , and after a number of chances from Mason M, Ben A,Tom A,Lukas D and Jordan W, the ball fell to Alex S whose shot stopped in the puddle in the goalmouth , but Mason M was quickest to react and scored ,3-1 . Eagles were now playing with confidence , and scored a 4th goal when Jordan W turned and shot low into the corner of the net,4-1., with the match coming to an end Ollie G hit the bar ,and a great cross from Tom A saw Reece W head in a 5th goal to end the match 5-1. A fantastic team performance , from the keeper all of the defenders , midfield wingers and forwards ,every player played there part, man of the match went to Jordan W and achievement went to Nicky L .
