Farnborough Youth Colts were formed in the summer of 2002 in the Under 11 age group by Stuart Povey and suffered their first setback before a ball was even kicked by losing a number of players in the week before the season started.
The tone for the 2002/03 season was soon set as the first goal conceded was an own goal. Despite only winning three games all season they ended up finshing 9th but the signs of improvement were visible as the season went on.
The highlight of the season however happened off the pitch as the whole squad went to watch Farnborough Town play Arsenal at Highbury in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
The 2003/04 season saw a complete change of fortunes for the Colts and the start of a trend of a poor season followed by a good season that has continued ever since.
The Colts made the signing of forward Matf Fowler in the summer and this proved to be pivotal in the change of fortunes of the team and this was evident when he scored the Colts first ever hatrick on his debut.
Despite only losing two games all season, the Colts were only third in the table at the end of the season but were given promotion for the following season.
The 2004/05 season was a quite unremarkable season for the Colts as they nestled in midtable.
The squad size seemed to be one of the major factors in this with the Colts using 21 players throughout the season and with only 16 players being allowed to be used on match days, this caused additional difficulties.
The team finished 6th in the table and at the end of the season the team split and the Invincibles were formed.
With the reduced squad, the Colts looked like they were going struggle again this season with their away loss to Whitecroft & Barton sports in the Hamphire Cup being their fifth straight loss at the start of the season.
However, the trip seemed to be what the team needed as the team bonded and from here they went on an 18 game unbeaten run and ended up finishing 3rd in the table just three points behind the winners and for the first time in their history scored in excess of 100 goals in the season.
This season also saw the Colts first ever cup victory when they beat Aldershot Park Rangers in the first round of the League Cup
This was the toughest season in the Colts history as the team lost key players Matt Fowler & Dan Hyam, amongst others, during pre-season and were knocked out of the league cup before new players could arrive.
Further departures were to follow with Colts originals Oliver Povey & Scott Upward both being drafted into the A team during the season.
Following Oliver's departure, Stuart Povey decided to stand down as manager. Alun Fisher took over the reigns and, with the team already relegated, he started the rebuilding process for the following season. At the first team meeting, a target was agreed by all. This was simply to play the final season at u18's in the Premier division, and finish in the silverware for the last season as well.
