Farnborough Youth FC (formerly Farnborough Town Youth) have run teams from under 8's for many years now.
The youth team was based on the Aldershot and District school team organised so successfully by Charles Mortimore MBE.
A number of local teams were invited to be 'adopted' by Farnborough Town. Amongst these were two teams formed at Cove Junior School who were invited to play as Farnborough Town in successive years 1991/92.
All committee members, managers & coaches happily devote their time on a voluntary basis. The club has a formal constitution, a structured accounting system and player/supporters codes of conduct.
Current Farnborough FC first team squad members such as Nic Ciardini, Leigh Rumbold and Michael Charles players have all progressed at various stages through the Farnborough Youth FC set up and Farnborough Youth side.
There will be four 11-a-side teams and mini-soccer training sessions will be on hand for current and any new players who wish to join a long standing club who have achieved success not just at the top end but in giving boys and girls of all abilities the opportunity to play football.
Farnborough Youth Under 10 Dragons, managed by Stuart Povey, have become the first Farnborough FC team to win silverware by winning their division of the North East Hants Youth League.
The Dragons started the season with only one player that had played football before, but building on the squad as the season went on, the Dragons began the season with two league defeats but since then they have remained unbeaten, winning thirteen and drawing three of their remaining games to clinch the title.
The Dragons are now preparing for the step up to 11-a-side football next season and will be celebrating the success by leading out the, hopefully also league champions, Farnborough Football Club's first team for the final league game of the season against Uxbridge on 26th April.
