Farncombe Youth Football Club was formed in 1975 to provide the opportunity for competitive football for Boys and Girls living in Farncombe, Godalming and surrounding villages.
The Club has grown steadily over the years and now provides the opportunity for competitive league football from the age of under 8 through to under 16. Under 7’s play friendly seven-a-side league football and in addition there is a nursery group for under 6 year olds. Regular weekly coaching is provided together with the opportunity to play in local tournaments and competitions. Some members attend ‘Schools of Excellence’ with youth groups of FA League Clubs.
It has been thought for many years that the club needed a mens senior side, giving the boys a senior side that they could progress to at the end of their youth playing days.
Chairman Kevin Shepherd approached Chris Darwen in March 2006 to discuss the idea of him becoming manager of Farncombe FC, and creating the club's first ever men's side at Meades Park.
The Victory Shield, an annual under 16s Home Nations Championship, began this weekend. Would you like to see a similar competition played at senior level?
