The club was Established January 2005 by our Chairman Dave Haywood.
The project was so boys & girls could learn and to have fun, building self esteem and meeting new friends through football.
With the help from Bolton CVS grants and other clubs, in the Bolton & Bury Mini Soccer league, the foundations were being built.
Our Kit sponsors KWIK SAVE donated our first ever team kit in 2005.
We started off with one, level 1 coach and now we have 8 qualified coaches from FA Level 1 & above..
We have now completed our first season 05/06 at mini football.
I have got to say "WELL DONE" to everybody involved at FC Sharples, the first season has been fantastic achievement.
In our first year we started with 9 players and now have more than doubled the players.
2 players where training at BWFC academy in the first season 05/06 and 3 players were reselected for a second season 06/07.
Three of our Girls went in training with BWFC Girls. & Megan Taylor is now playing at Blackburn Rovers Ladies since U9s.
We entered two teams at U8s in the Bolton & Bury League for the 06/07 season.
Two U7s teams from FC Sharples, entered the Beechfield festival Tournament 2006 and both teams came away with both fair play awards for each team.
In the Stockport Juniors Tournament 2006.
FC Sharples came 3rd out of 18 teams.
At the Cadishead Tournament 2006, we entered 2 teams, they came 2nd & 3rd in their group,each group was made up of of 8 teams in each group.
We became a Charter Standard Club, on 01/08/2006
In the 2006/7 season. FC Sharples became runners up in the (B) section and gain promotion to the (A) section.
In the 2008/09 season U10s, both team merged into one 12 player squad, to develop for the 9v9 season 2009. We now have 15 players at 9v9 2010/11 season
2008. Harry Holland sign a second season at Bury FC & Megan Taylor sign forms to player for Blackburn Rover FC Ladies.
In 2008 FC Sharples formed a new U6s development team for the future. They are now playing in two teams of U8s 2010/11 season.
In 2009/10 season the U11s won one of the two finals in the Daisy Hill FC tournament.
2010/11 season U12s League Champions & Cup Runners up at the Reebok.
The Club was awarded the RESPECT / FAIR PLAY Award for all of Lancashire in 2011.
U8s completed their second season in the devalopment league and now move up into the league comp at U9s for 2011/11 season
2010/11 a new team on U7s were put into devalopment for the 2011/12 season at U8s. We now are on over 50 children playing football at FC sharples.
In 2011 saw our second girl. Holly Collier join Blackburn Rovers Girls at U9s. This is the second girl to come through FC Sharples on to Blackburn Rovers. Megan Taylor is now in her 4th season there too.
This all came about from two little boys age 6 who had no team and wanted to play football.
