Brief Club History (28/04/08)
FC Tolworth was formed before the start of the 2005-2006 season and entered the Leatherhead and District Sunday Football League. The club was set up by a close knit group of friends who had been itching to play football in the same side as each other for many years. Alot of commitment and determination finally got the ball rolling, with sponsorship, players and pitches all finalised in time for the clubs debut season. The committee members of the club would be Alex Gates as Chairman, Dave Hunt and Paul Dale as Treasurers and Neil Wicks would be Secretary aswell as Team Manager. The club got sponsorship from Tolworth's Broadway Bar Cafe and confirmed that their home ground would be Deckers Sports and Social Club in Kingston Road. The majority of the original squad had not played any form of football for nearly 10 years so it was going to be interesting to see if some of them still had the talent that they did all that time ago, fitness was a big issue too, so there was alot of work to be done. The original 2005-2006 squad are as follows: K Manser, A Argent, I Gaskin, T Phung, M Taylor, A Gates, P Dale, D Hunt, C Scanlon, S Lewis, M Dearing, D Smith, A McArthur, S Sams, S Wicks, N Wicks, D Palazzo and M Hitchcock.
