Fens have now gone 4 games unbeaten in the league picking up 8 points from a possible 12 after another battling performance, Athletic were creating chances but found Fens' backline in no mood to concede and threw themselves into every challenge, Fens were dealt a blow on 30 mins when Matty Palmer limped off after taking a heavey blow to the knee then had to make their 2nd substitution at half time with Micky Roberts suffering a dead leg.

Athletic stepped up the pace in the 2nd half and Fens were left to hit them on the break but found the home defence also in a resolute mood, Fens then had a bit of luck by way of the cross bar and keeper Andy Ruddock claiming anything close to him, Fens' best chance came late on after a sweeping move saw Chris Loynes blaze wide after smelling the glory, best for Fens was Ian Hall, Andrew McBean with Phill Purdy taking the m.o.m award after another fine display.
