Flamstead United are a Multi Cultural Football Youth Project funded by Children & Young People Services of East Greenwich (CYPSEG).
The team was formed by Bernie Hawkins in 2002 with Young People living on the Flamstead Housing Estate. In their first season together they were unbeaten and won the Bexley & District Under 15D League without losing a game. They also received, The Greenwich Young Peoples Award for their achievements on and off the field.
In 2005 the team won The Our Ladies Youth 5 A Side Under 18 Tournament and this year they also won the Bexley & District Under 18C league, without losing a game.
As well as giving the boys the opportunity to play football the aim of the project is to also assist each player with their Personal Development and to give each member the opportunity to gain an Accredited FA Coaching Award.
The majority of the team have gained their Level One FA Coaching award with Charlton Athletics CARE partnership.
