Report

Forest Falcons finished the game bitterly dissappointed after dominating much of the game and playing some excellent football. Hasbury dominated for the first five minutes before the Falcons got into their stride and started passing the ball around brilliantly. The addition of Dan Cooper to the side has given the Falcons a strong target man and he used his power to open up some space on the edge of the box before rattling the ball off the post. George Vass then broke down the right flank and into the box before being tugged back by a Hasbury player, sportingly George stayed on his feet but the referee awarded a penalty and Thomas Marshall smashed home the Falcons first. Shortly after Ben Eberle collected the ball in his own box and launched the ball up-field, the opposing keeper came out to collect but the bounce deceived him and rose over the keepers head and into the goal.

The second half saw the Falcons return to the field in the same way they started the game, slowly. This gave Hasbury a ten minute period of dominance in which the stand in centre half Raje Brown used his pace and strenght brilliantly, along with fellow centre half Sergio Popescu to hold the Hasbury team off, however Hasbury managed to break down the defence and scored three goals in quick succession. The Falcons fought back with an attack which saw Scott Ludlam lay the ball back to Dan Cooper only to see his shot fly just wide of the post, but Hasbury had done enough to snatch the win.

The performance was a good one from the boys in which the team played some very attractive football. It is important the boys look to build on this footballing display and keep their heads up and remain composed if they concede a goal.
