Formby Sixers have been playing together since the fallout of Taps FC in May 2008, where Sean Corrigan, Tom Clarke and Tom Wooder played together. With the addition of a few more talented players, originally Matty Cropper, Paul Langton and Greg Hedley, the sixers had the backbone of a good team. A few more key additions over the past 12 months have made the sixers a fantastic team that boast an impressive win ratio. The Sixers win ratio includes a 14 match winning run, between September and December 2008, beating sides such as, Brownmoor, AFC Vig, Stapleton Rovers, Harrington and Formby Athletic in the process.

Formby Sixers began the 2009 campaign competing in the Southport 6-a-Side league, playing some excellent football and winning the first 5 league games. The Sixers went on to win the League dropping only 5 points in the process.

Despite the name, the Sixers play both 6-a-side and 7-a-side matches, and will be joining the Southport 7-a-side league in July. Watch this space . . . . . .
