Welcome to the HOMEPAGE of FREEHOLD FOOTBALL CLUB. This website has been made available to help managers, players and supporters obtain any information they may require as regards FREEHOLD FOOTBALL CLUB.

Born out of the demise of Tewitfield F.C., FREEHOLD FOOTBALL CLUB have been in existence since the start of 1993-94 when we were admitted into the North Lancashire Football League. We started out in Division Four and have since gained three promotions in 1995-96, 1998-99 and 2001-02 but unfortunately we have also suffered one relegation in 2004-05 just one year after falling just three points short of gaining a place in the Premier Division. We are currently in Division Two where we hope to mount a serious challenge for promotion to Division One. This season though looks a very good league with four or five sides all in with a shout. However with Phil Morgan as manager, his assistant John Hammond, founder members Kev Davies and Mick Parkinson and player/fitness coach Patrick Rabette on the coaching staff we feel there is no reason why 2008-09 season cannot be a successful one. With players coming in from both the Premier Division and Division One we now feel that we have the quality to achieve our promotion target.

We now play our home matches on Pitch No 2 at King George V Playing Fields, Slyne Road, Lancaster, having previously played at Salt Ayre, Far Moor and Ryelands Park. We also meet before and after each game at the Rose Tavern Public House, Ullswater Road, Freehold, Lancaster. This is a relatively recent arrangement as we had for many years used the pub across the road.

Our objectives for this season and beyond are to secure promotion to Division One and then at the very least consolidate our position there. We also hope that if we can achieve this it will put us in a position where we can consider forming a reserve team, an idea that first came to light about ten years ago. It was decided then however that it was a little early to make such a move. Now though it is again very much in our thoughts and that if we can gain and then maintain First Division status it could become a reality. We are also going to explore throughout 2008-09 the possibility of moving to a pitch nearer our locality as our present ground is situated on the other side of town. This is something we will do throughout the season in the hope of finding a new and nearer ground for 2009-10.
