Welcome to FRYSTON ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB!
Re-formed in 2008, the Club is Affiliated to the West Riding County FA and are Members of the West Yorkshire League, where we play in Division Two and the Castleford and District Sunday Football Association League, where we play in the Premier Division. With the WYL side kicking-off in 2014-15, in the season just gone, the CSL side won the Castleford & District FA Sunday Cup and were Runners-Up in the Oakworth Open Cup Final, as well as finishing third in the Premier Division.
Our home ground is located at Fryston Miners Welfare, Askham Road, Ferry Fryston, Castleford, West Yorkshire and is affectionately known as "The Dell"
The Club Nickname is ''The Colliers'', a nod towards the area's proud mining heritage that is now, unfortunately, long-since deceased. But never forgotten...
The Fryston name has a long and varied history, competing in a variety of Leagues since being Officially Formed way back in 1910, but there is evidence of a Fryston team playing in the late 1800s when Association Football began to establish itself in this part of the Country. In the early 1900's, there are mentions of a Fryston Recreation and a Fryston United playing local football, before the pit-sponsored Fryston Colliery AFC began in 1910.
