Report

From start to finish we dominated this match, the gulf in class of the 2 teams obvious.Setting a fast pace from kick-off,we had many close calls before we opened the scoring. From a corner, the ball fell to Andy Blackwell on the edge of the box.He drove in low n hard and the ball found its way through a crowded box to Andy Burrow whose last touch prodded the ball past the `keeper.Unfortunately we couldnt had to the score in this half but Adam Blackwell did have a couple of one-on-ones which the goalkeeper kept his side in the game with some fine last - ditch saving.
In the 2nd half we again came out of the blocks the quickest and this time our advantage told as a break down the right found the ball crossed into the box to Marc Bedworth who layed the ball into the path of Adam Blackwell and he made no mistake with a low shot with his left.Goal 34 in a prolific season although he has been quiet of late and needed that goal to get him back on track.
Kev Causier then got in the act .The first a cheeky back-heel when caught with the ball with his back to goal, then a rasping drive past a despairing `keeper after yet another break down the right.
After a couple of changes, another attack caused a bit of panic in the defence and when the ball fell to Liam Evans he smashed one in while unmarked about 8 yards out.
Again we went to sleep as is our way just lately and again we were punished.A bit unfair on stand-in `keeper Gaz Oulton ,deputising for the working Mark Edwards, has he had a tidy game for us.So all-in-all ,a good day for us .Lots of positives for us but we must learn to concentrate for full halves as better teams will make us pay in the long run.
The Jill and Andy`s Stores MOM was(not for the first time) Andy Blackwell.

  • No scheduled fixtures.
