Season Archive

Fife Youth League U19s

Season 2010-11 was our first year at u19’s. The season started with some poor performances in the league. This was caused by so many changes in our line up. We lost several key players in the Summer, and struggled to compete because of this. We did manage to add some stronger players before the cup tournaments started. So we had a reasonable run in the Scottish Cup. Great results against East Neuk Saints 7-0 and Lochgelly 8-4, before losing in the 3rd round against Torrance through in Glasgow.

We were then knocked out of the Fife Cup after a great match against Cupar that finished 6-6 before we lost on penalties.

In the Winter we added another couple of players and finally settled into a regular starting line up. This gave the team some confidence and we started getting better league results that dragged us from the bottom up to mid table. We finally finished only 2 points off of 3rd place. We also performed well in the league cup tournament, getting to the Stuart MsPhee Memorial Final after a brilliant game against Crossford when we came back from 0-3 down to win 4-3. Unfortunately we lost in the final to Kelty.

We finished the season with a round of golf and dinner. Pat won the golf with a net 73. We then presented the seasons campaign medals to all of the players and rewarded the following players with trophies.....

Goal of the season – 35 yard volley against Rosebank – Scott Young.

Top Goalscorer – 29 goals in 35 games – Derry Hendry.

Most Improved Player – Mikey Carr.

Players Player of the Year – Scott Young.

Player of the Year – Lewis Ford.
