Glentyan Thistle established June 2006

In the summer of 2006 the current Glentyan Thistle teamevolved from a combination of Linwood Utd and St. Mirren B.C.

Throughout the 60's , 70's & 80's Glentyan had been a hugely successful club before disbanding.

Several players had come through their ranks and moved on to play senior football.

The current managers / coaches had played for the team in the 1980's and took great pleasure in resurrecting the name.

Some parents and even grandparents (who played or managed Glentyan previously)have sons / grandsons playing within the current teams , thereby continuing a long line of family & village links with the Glentyan name.
