Formed over 100 years and nicknamed The Badgers, Govilon AFC have returned home to King George V Playing Fields , known locally as The Rec after playing their football at Bailey Park, Abergavenny whilst their pitch, which had a pronounced slope was re-developed. Their spell at Abergavenny saw them win the Knauf Insulation Gwent Central League and on returning home they gained admittance to the Welsh Autoparts Gwent County League in 2007/2008 winning Div 3 in their inaugural season and also winning the John Payne Barber Gwent County FA Amateur Cup. Season 2008/2009 saw them win Division 2 also picking up the County Motors Challenge Cup. Main Club sponsors are Trade Centre Wales.
