Little Oakley Res. 0
Great Bentley Reserves 2

Little Oakley Reserves 0, Great Bentley Reserves 2

Kent Blaxill Essex & Suffolk Border League, Reserve Premier Division.

Bentley are not without options, as their second string continue to impress in the Reserve Section.

Oakley Reserves have been a consistent force at this level, but were comprehensively brushed aside by their experienced visitors.

James Rule headed Bentley into a 2nd minute lead with a header from David Gray’;;s corner.

And on the quarter-hour Ian Morton headed in another Gray set-piece, this time a free-kick.

Bentley created numerous chances throughout the half without adding to their tally.

When Danny Jordan was upended in the box, the normally reliable Gray sent his spot-kick over the bar.

The Bentley defence maintained a shut-out during the second half, keeper, Alex Youngs having only a couple of crosses to deal with.

Pick of the back-line was Paul Hesketh, who had an outstanding game at left-back.

Player/manager, Richie Herbert came on in the closing stages, but somehow managed to sky a shot from a couple of yards out.
