Not the ideal build up having to change pitches as a result of the tiny pitch at Northfield School being damaged by horses. This moved us to Wolvistons senior pitch which was perhaps too big for u12 football in hindsight.
Greatham settled well but were being constantly thwarted by a Wolviston defence playing the offside trap. This was breached on 15 minutes however when James Hogan broke through to draw the keeper off his line before passing to Danny Temperley to side foot home.
A second soon followed when Jamie Halliday played a defence splitting pass to James Hogan who lobbed the keeper. Alan Harrison then added a third when he dribbled into the box before firing home.
Greatham made hard work of the second half as the big pitch took its toll. There were also numerous stoppages as it seemed that the Wolviston trainer was never off the pitch to treat injuries.
Wolviston counter attacked making use of the space, and were rewarded with a penalty when Legend brought down the attacker. He redeemed himself however by pushing the retaken spot kick onto the bar before catching the loose ball.
Wolviston did soon score what appeared to be a consolation goal with a well taken finish from a flowing move before Adam Thompson ran through a static defence in the last minute to coolly finish.
Adam Thompson was man of the match for a hard working performance in midfield.
