Penrhyn Bay 2011
30 Jul 2011

10:4 breaker 10:4 lookalike we got us a CONVOY.... We crossed half of Wales following behind the Williams passion Wagon, through housing estates and over countless speed humps, apparently this passes for a short cut in these parts! We arrived at our venue and proceeded to set up camp flying our black and White battle flag Much to the consternation of some of the locals we wondered if our tents would have been torched on our return? This one was always going to be a mystery with names we couldn't say and playing the local speciality 8 a side with small sided goals! The football on the day was a mixed bag with frustration in games we should have done better in and games where we were clearly second best. All in all the local teams experience in this form of the game showed and we stubbled to match the pace I guess we would have faired better with 11 a side against then same opposition, still we left with our heads held high and on return to the site it was only the local seagulls that had pillaged our camp!

Flixton Town 2011
30 Jul 2011

As always with tournaments we arrived without a clear idea of who we would be up against nor how we would fair but it was looking like a good day and the boys were in great spirits, before we started the proceedings were marred by Stan picking up a freak injury before the first game kicked off meaning he was brought off after two minutes little did we know he would play no further part today! The football started well got better but the we tiered and finished on a low. It was a close run thing we were top after four games and equal points with two others at the end, in third place by one goal we could only go through as best third from the three groups and disappointingly we again lost out by one goal. We had put on great performance but Stans injury and lack of cover cost us in the end but still good to have been close!

Cheadle Heath Nomads 11-a-side 2011
30 Jul 2011

With a number of players missing there were opportunities for a number of the newer boys to impress as the boys played five 12 minute matches over the course of the morning.

Overall the day has to go down as a great success - after a slow start to the first game the performances from all the players was excellent. The boys finished third in a group of six narrowly missing out on progression to the semi-finals.
Also it was pleasing to finish with a positive goal difference.
Dante got player of the day with some high tempo consistent play and on this form really benefits the way the whole team performs.
Well done boys for the performance today.

Wales tour 2011
30 Jul 2011

Last Year we took 11 of the boys on a camping trip to Anglesey and away for our annual "tour", our hosts were again Tynygongl JFC from the island.
We were on tour in Wales again in 2011 on 24th to 26th June staying in Llandudno and playing in the local Penrhyn Bay Tournament.

The weekend got off to a cold windy start which saw us heading for the site clubhouse to warm up and stay dry... June? The next day our convoy embarked and we traveled the short distance to Llandudno for a day's football, returning to Conway later in the afternoon for rest and relaxation and the option of fish and chips in the town. The afternoon and evening was spent first with the now traditional game of camp cricket and later the boys enjoying the adventure around the site and the adults socialising until the small hours under the team gazebo. The next morning everyone was up and about in their own time and for those that didn't have to rush off it was a relaxing glorious morning and a safe trip home. Yet again a great time had by all!
