Gretton go through to the last 16 of the lower junior cup with an emphatic win !
Gretton set out their stall early and really got amongst Daventry. The UCL side conceaded on 20 minutes with Shaine McAlindons header from a shot rebounding off the bar, then on 34 minutes, a cross-C*M-shot from Adam Muir added to Grettons tally. John Fursdon added another 6 minutes later with a close range volley to put the underdogs in at half-time 3 nil up.
With the half only a minute old, Saul McCracken pounced on a poor back-pass to slot home Grettons forth. The UCL side pushed hard to get back into the game, and got some reward on 65 and 75 minutes pulling 2 goals back.
Gretton continued the fight, and in the 80th minute they were awarded a penalty that was duly despatched into the daventry net for a glorious 5-2 win.
Men of the match were keeper Lee Brydon for the half-dozen amazing second half saves, and Adam Muir for a stalwart performance at left-back.
