Grindleton F.C.'s history spans all the way back to the late twenties. They have played the majority of their competetive games in the Craven & District Leagues against teams from the West Yorkshire and East Lancashire Area.

The club are based at Sawley Road just across from Grindleton Primary School. They have some excellent facilities including two changing rooms, a superb pitch (ably looked after by groundsman Alan Fielding) and even an Adventure playground!

The first team are currently managed by James 'Drive'Time) Driver, who recently took over the reigns from Darren Barrow. He will share some of the managerial duties with Club man Gary Fawcett along with some other first team players. The second team were delighted to anounce that Bernard Sommers will continue to manage them next season.

The first team had a somewhat 'transitional' season in the Premier League last year having just been promoted and with a squad that was thin on the ground. They managed to turn things around at the end and finished a creditable 5th place, above the other local teams, Waddington and WFC Clitheroe; also reaching the Northern Plant Hire Quarter Final and the Morrisons Cup Semi-Final stages.

The second team enjoyed quite a good season in the thrid division and were terribly unlucky to lose out on promotion, finishing third with 42 points. They are surely red hot favourites to gain promotion next season.

After a successful AGM in May and with new positions being filled up by enthusiastic members of the club, Grindleton look forward to the coming season with optimism and with the promise of some new players being drafted in over the summer in their ongoing quest for silverware.
