Gwelup United registered their third successive 4-0 victory by dispatching Subiaco United at the Croatian Sporting Complex.

In a game which was really controlled from start to finish by the home side, Gwelup never looked like surrendering their lead or even a single goal for that matter.

They were stunned early however as Subiaco pushed everybody forward for the first 20 minutes in an attempt to catch the Gwelup defence off guard. They were unable to get and ultimately paid the price in the 24th minute when Vlade Jelas pounced on a Steven Cikara clearance and slotted home a classic counter-attacking move.

An almost identical goal followed in the 36th minute. Maks Luburic this time the beneficiary of a defensive clearance, finishing off in a similair fashion to Jelas.

Cina Ghiassi added a third in the 40th minute after a goalmouth scramble from a corner as the home side cruised to a 3-0 half-time lead.

The second half followed an identical script with Subi asserting the early pressure yet unable to score against a stubborn Gwelup defence.

Jarrad Maras effectively ended the match as a contest on the hour as he capitalised on a goalkeeping error to tap in an Andjelko Drlja free-kick.

United still remain unbeaten behind their local rivals North Beach by just two points.
