Hagbourne United F.C. first affiliated to the Berks & Bucks F.A. in the year 1914. However due to the out break of hostilities that year, the first season that we find them competing in a league is in the season 1919-1920 where they finished 4th in the Wallingford division, behind Long Wittenham, Wallingford & Didcot. They were promoted to division one for season 1920-21.Where we find that they were much of a Yo-Yo team moving between the top two divisions, untill the outbreak of the 2nd World War.
