Royals F.C. previously named as Waterhouse Youth and then Waterhouse F.C was formed in 1992 by Steve Richardson when most of the team were just 9 years old.
Of the current squad 10 of the original players are still with the squad and have enjoyed many ups and downs of the chnages that have been nesseccary since that first year.
In the early years Waterhouse Youth had limted successes in the Harlow Rec. League before forming the Major part of the very fist Harlow Town link with the inaugural Footbal Academy.
In 1997, the main body of the team being aged just 17 years old reformed as Waterhouse F.C. and entered the Bishops Stortford and Stansted District Football League. At this time the squad included 3 Father and Son combinations which culminated in successes in the both the League and Cup Competitions.
Major success was achieved in season 2000/2001 when the club achieved the League and Cup Double in Division 1, with the new name Legion Royals F.C. supported by the Harlow branch of the Royal British Legion.
Season 2004/2005 saw the club name changed to Royals F.C. and the club joined the McMullens Hertford League.
