HWSA - 200 CLUB
17 May 2010

The HWSA have agreed to set up a 200 club to assist in raising funds for its 3 member organisations.

For those of you who have not come across a 200 club before, here is a description of the scheme

The Plan:

Up to 200 people buy one or more 'shares' per year. An agreed total sum raised goes to HWSA, the rest is distributed on a monthly basis to winning 'shareholders' whose share numbers have been drawn.

Membership:

The cost of each yearly share is £60 per annum or £5 for each month. Shareholders may hold more than one share. The first draw is scheduled to take place on 1st July 2010.

Shares:

Each share is numbered and that number belongs to the member to whom it is allocated for as long as he or she is a paid-up member of the 200 Club.

Prize Draw:

All share numbers are included in each monthly draw. The draw is made by at least two HWSA members, one must be an HWSA committee member. Prize money depends on the number of paid-up shareholders that month but if all 200 tickets are issued then they will be 1st - £250, 2nd - £100, 3rd - £50
If a unsold number is drawn then further draws are taken until a sold number is pulled out.

If anyone is interested in buying a share (or more) then please contact Barry Hall on barry@stareurope.co.uk or alternatively any acting member of the HWSA committee.
(FYI - HWSA Committee members from Harold Wood Ath F.C. are Gary Hammond, Russell Grainger, Peter Jones)

A direct debit can be set up for £5 per month or an annual £60 cash or cheque payment can be arranged.

Please help support the continuing growth of your 3 member clubs.

All the money raised will go towards the running of the association and the upkeep and improvement of all the HWSA facilities.

Regards

Barry Hall

DAREN BROWN CHARITY SPONSORED SKYDIVE
06 Apr 2010

Daren (1 r) Brown, Wood's answer to Jimmy Saville, is back on the Charity campaign, with a sponsored SkyDive this May.

The Billy Mitchell lookalike will be raising money for Saint Francis Hospice by taking part in a 12,000ft tandam skydive over the blue skies of Harold Wood.....Original partner Joycie was discredited, as the parachute would not hold the weight during a training jump from 15ft, therefore Pele will be jumping with a more qualified instructor on the day.

Please see Pele's plea for sponsorship below and help him raise money for a very worthwhile cause !!

************************

Dear all,

I’m back again and once more I am asking for your support in raising money for Saint Francis Hospice. This charity is very close to me for reasons most of you already know and I aim to raise as much money for them at every opportunity.

On Sunday 9th May 2010 I will be thrown out of a plane from around 12,000ft whilst harnessed to a professional freefall parachute instructor (I hope!!). Therefore while I’m freefalling down to 5,000ft I would have hoped that you would have found it in your hearts to have dipped into your pocket a couple of inches and donated to a very worthwhile charity.

I hope to raise at least £1000 all of which will benefit Saint Francis Hospice and I hope that you will consider sponsoring me in my challenge so that I can help Saint Francis Hospice lessen the challenge that UK cancer patients face each day.

To sponsor me please click on the following link http://www.justgiving.com/Daren-Brown

If you do not wish to donate through the JustGiving website then I have sponsor forms available for you to fill in.
So please dig deep and sponsor me NOW!!!

Many thanks and kind regards
Daren

SATURDAY 10th OCTOBER - 'The Weller Colllective' Tribute Band - At the Clubhouse 7.30pm-late
24 Sep 2009

Ex-Wood player and original Marathon Man, Mark Jeffries will be bringing his 'Paul Weller Tribute Band to the Clubhouse for an exclusive performance on Saturday 10th October.

Marks band 'The Weller Collective' have been playing together for a while now and come with a very good reputation after playing out many old Style Council, Jam and Weller hits, in front of many of our club members over the past few years.

For those youngsters that have not heard of Paul Weller and The Jam - they were an excellent band from the Early 80's headed up by The Modfather Paul Weller .....not a Rude Boy Rap Band named after a strawberry preserve!!!

Marks Tribute Band will be belting out hits such as 'Eton Rifles', 'Thats Entertainment', 'Town Called Malice' and many more from 7.30pm onwards,

Watching Jeffries on the drums will be far more easier than playing football with him, but just dont ask for him to pass you anything during the performance!! (we will also ensure Steve Hayes in not in close vicinity to ensure no unnessecary arguments ensue during the act).

Tickets are £5 pay on the night, from 7.30pm. Please come along and support Mark and the Club at what promises to be a great night.
