Harpurhey United F.C. is now in it's second season and has grown from the previous season and thanks to all the volunteers and coaches for their help in making it all work....
We are now officially an affiliated member club to F.C. United of Manchester, which is a great step up for Harpurhey United and will hopefully secure places for some of our players in the future........
We have grown throughout last season and are putting six girls teams in the North Manchester Girls League for the new season 2009/10 and three under 15s boys teams in the Tameside Sunday League aswell as a Saturday under 14s boys team and hopefully under 11s & 13s boys teams too.
We also now have under 8s & 9s girls teams which will be facing their first ever season in football and we wish them all the best of luck....and hope they have fun....
We are a newly formed club.
With new ideas.
A new attitude and new aims.
Harpurhey United F.C. is a club that will endeavour to give the children from Harpurhey and it's surrounding area,
a chance to make a real name for themselves in football and the community.
The area itself has it's own share of problems, but hopefully with chances to take part in football through the club, some of these issues will become less focused in the future.
Our goal like many other local clubs is to offer competitive football coaching to anyone who wishes to play, regardless of race, religion, gender or ability and we are proud to be affiliated to the Manchester F.A.
We have full public liabilty insurance and all our Coaches are CRB checked,F.A. Qualified and hold First Aid and Child Protection certification.
Charter Standard is around the corner and we hope to be able to have our permanent home base in Harpurhey, in the not to distant future, after all the finer details have been worked out and the funding sourced to bring it all to fruition.
We have secured our home ground on Andrew Road, Blackley, for another season, just on the edge of Harpurhey, and not too far from North City, which we are delighted to share with a local primary school, we also intend to provide after school coaching at the school, on a similar basis to what we already do at Moston Lane Community Primary school, and our soccer school at St Augustines in Monsall during term time.
We have other schools on our list for the new season and we will keep everone notified as to when and where these will take place.
The new ground is due to be developed in the very near future and we are extremely happy to be a part of a very worthwhile community project as it begins it's early stages.
We will also have the use of new facilities being built nearby for club training sessions, which will be a massive plus...
We have found that by working with the schools, we can introduce children into football from an earlier age, helping them develop a good sense of team spirit and how a team works together to achieve it's goals.
We always try to go that extra mile to meet the needs of our players and their families too, and because of this, we have a great relationship with all the children, which we find makes a big difference.
If the children are enjoying their football, then we are happy as a club, and when they have any doubts or problems.
We will always endeavour to resolve them as soon as possible,
this helps to keep everyone happy, and our teams in good spirit.
The childrens voices must always be heard.
At the end of the day it is all about them.
