Harpurhey United F.C. formed in July 2008 as a club after a number of coaches decided to leave their former club in total support of one of the members who was forced to resign following a disagreement,

We decided that we too, could offer the same chances as the other local clubs but turned our attention to Harpurhey and it's social and economic problems.

We formed a new club constitution and new club rules.
and then applied to Manchester F.A. for our own club affiliation, which we were granted very kindly, and we are extremely greatful for all the help they have given us.

Many of the children we used to coach followed us to the new club and this has provided us with a good base to build from and develop, some of these children being from the area we have focused on.

We want to give the children a sense of pride for all the passion they show when they are playing football, and as a club we intend to make sure this will always be the case.

Our debut teams for the season 2008/9 have already received a lot of publicity in the past as they went from strength to strength last season, and we hope they will continue to do so in the future,joined by even more children from the local area and building better and stronger relationships between the local neighbourhoods.

Harpurhey was one of the countries most depraved areas in 2004 and still continues to have some problems at the present day.

We hope that by playing our small part in the community we can help address some of the issues and help the children of the area take part in something we regard as a worthwhile and very rewarding ambition.
