HEATH HAYES ARE STAFFORDSHIRE VASE CHAMPIONS!!!!
Heath Hayes FC are the 2009 Staffordshire FA Vase champions after one of the greatest nights in the clubs history. Hayes scooped an historic victory in the dying minutes of extra-time to gain a victory which sent the 400-plus crowd wild! Goals from Ben Maddox and Richard Hewitt gave Hayes the win in an epic match that went right down to the wire!
Firstly, the club would like to thank all of the supporters who travelled over to Stafford Rangers to cheer the team on to victory. Also, thanks must go to the hard work of all the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to run the club. Finally, thanks to the players and management who gave their all to give Hayes one of their proudest moments.
Celebrations went on long into the night at the Five Ways, with players and supporters alike getting their hands on the trophy!
The game was photographed and videod by Hampton Publications, from which you can buy prints and also a DVD of the entire nights proceedings.

All at the club are delighted with this massive achievement and it is thoroughly deserved by all involved at Heath Hayes FC.

BEVAN SCOOPS THE JACKPOT
Leigh Bevan became the lucky winner of the Snowball when he correctly predicted all ten of the results on the clubs Prediction Sheets. Bevan scooped the jackpot on the weekend of 7th March, and won a total of £730. The Snow ball has not been won for almost two years, and has gone 73 weeks without being won. Hopefully Leigh will be kind enough to share his wealth with a round of drinks!
PERRY BECOMES A FATHER
Heath Hayes winger Ashley Perry became a father for the first time last week. Ashley's wife Kelly gave birth to a baby girl last week. Both mother and baby are doing very well. All at Heath Hayes send the family their best wishes and hope to see Perry back on the pitch soon!
EATLY MAKING A GOOD RECOVERY
Four weeks after breaking his leg, Shaun Eatly is making a good recovery, doctors said this week. After going to see a specialist consultant, Eatly was told the break is healing well, and he with have his cast reduced to one which fits below the knee, allowing him more movement in his leg. The specialist also said it was a possibility that Eatly will be able to bear weight on his leg to aid the healing process. This is great news for Shaun and for Heath Hayes, but it only a small step on the long road to full recovery.
FRESH INJURY BLOWS FOR EATLEY AND HEWITT
Heath Hayes were hit by two major injury blows when Richard Hewitt and Shaun Eatley were both taken to hospital after their clash with Coton Green. Hewitt was the first to be injured in an unfortunate accident which saw him twist his knee under a clumbsy tackle. Eatley was brought on for Hewitt and after only two minutes cracked legs with a defender while shooting and had to be stretchered off. Both players were taken to hospital and it was later found that Eatley had broken his leg whilst Hewitt has possible knee ligament damage. It was a crushing blow for both players and for the club, especially after last seasons injury list. Eatley remained in hospital overnight as doctors were deciding whether to operate. We will bring you news as soon as we recieve it, and wish both players a speedy recovery.
ENDSLEIGH CHALLENGE CUP DRAW
After their win on Saturday 18th October, Heath Hayes find themselves in the last sixteen of the Endsleigh Challenge Cup. The draw was recently made and Hayes were drawn away to Premier League rivals Cadbury Athletic.
The game is due to take place on Saturday 22nd November at the Triplex Ground near Bournville. This will prove a great game for the neutral as both teams seem very evenly matched on early season form.
HAYES LOSE OUT IN F.A. VASE
Heath Hayes crashed out of the FA Vase in their first match as they lost out to Dunkirk on Saturday. Their opponents, from the East Midlands Counties League fully deserved their victory as Hayes did not play well throughout the game. It was a great day for the club and had the potential to be a great occasion, but Hayes could not take advantage and eventually lost the game.
Heath Hayes wish Dunkirk FC the best of luck in the next round of the competition.
