Heathrow Seinors

The team was formed in 2003 and is affiliated to Middlesex County FA. It started life as a team for Parents, Brothers, Cousins etc from those linked with Heathrow Youth AFC (previously known as Heathrow Harriers). The plan was to play out of Hanworth Park, Feltham, Middlesex but after one season the club house and facilities were not conducive to Adult football and with this and other reasons we split to form a separate team.

The team joined the Hounslow and District league and whilst there were slight improvements in the final league positions for the first three seasons, the lack of dedicated players, the ‘sporting environment’ from both own and opposition players, meant a change in direction.

Therefore, as from the 2006/7 season the plan is to play in the Amateur Football Combination (A.F.C.), formed in 2002 by the merger of the Old Boys' Football League and Southern Olympian League.

Apart from around 4 players from the start up of the team we now glean players from Spelthorne College pupils and IBM’s work experience students on a university break. This makes the average age of the team to be around 23 – thank goodness for the 4 old boys! What the youth makes up with fitness it just lacks in experience but this will expand in the next 2 – 3 years and we are hopeful that we can develop in to a strong side.
