The Spitfires continued their recent good run with a 2-0 win away at Pinefleet. Sporting had to work hard early on in a game played by 2 teams of very contrasting styles. Jordan and Oli- C kept the homeside's threat to a minimum with a focused display in the centre of defence and although Hessle lacked a little composure in the 1st half they where always in charge and failed to make the most of 3 or 4 chances to go ahead before the break. As the game went on the Spitfires began to take charge and went ahead when Danny finished from inside the box. Danny also played a big part in the 2nd goal, flicking on for James to find the top corner. The play began to flow much better now and with Callum and Cameron joining in from full back at every opportunity and Ben dominating the centre of midfield more chances came about, Harry and Danny both denied by the woodwork so it stayed 2-0. This was another good showing from the lads taking into account the difference in the way the sides played the game. They've struggled in the past against the more direct teams and they showed today that they can deal with and go on to dominant in such games. Well done boys!!!
