The Spitfires came out on top with a narrow 3-2 win at home to Costelo Rangers. Hessle started well enough and went ahead when the impressive Albie scored in off the post to make it 1-0. Despite still having the majority of the posssesion Sporting found themselves level when Charlie Boswell shot from distance to beat Harvey in the Hessle goal.
The home sided continued to play the passing game and got back in front when Reggie scored, after good work from James down the Sporting right and took the 2-1 lead into the break.
Costello where 1st to everthing at the start of the 2nd and the Spitfires looked a little sloppy. Failure to close down on the edge of their own box allowed Boswell to add his 2nd and the equaliser for the visitors.2-2.
Sporting showed no panic though and persisted playing some good football, it was however a speculative effort from the tireless MOTM Ben that put Hessle back in front and gave them all 3 points, with a few minutes on the clock.
The lads where without doubt the better side when in possesion today, but without the ball they looked a shadow of recent performances. To their credit though they did continue to play some patient stuff when the temptation was to have been a little more direct.
