Tonight we welcomed Westgate to the Trimpell for our final game of the season. We knew that a win would make us league champions. The pitch looked good after recent rain and the overhead conditions were excellent. from the start we took the game to Westgate and most of the first half we were camped in their half, however we were sloppy and did not really create any clear cut chances. Midway through the half a neat ball from Cameron T put Sam in space and he finished well to put us ahead 1-0 at half time.


Second half we really took a grip on the game and goals from Ben B (2) Joshua S (pen) and Cameron T saw us run out 5-1 winners. Unfortunately Jamie H fell heavily whilst making a great late tackle to thwart another Heysham attack and broke his collar bone...all at Blue Star wish Jamie a speedy recovery.


So we are league champions and indeed double winners...I would like to personally thank the league officials who made the evening just that bit extra special for the lads by coming down and presenting the trophy and league medals!!!!....thats if they had bothered to turn up. After calling me personally to say they would be there, they just had more pressing things to do?....a memorable evening and indeed season tainted.
