Heysham Football Club History
30 Nov -0001

Heysham F.C. reformed in the summer of 2005 by current secretary/player Derek Walton.
Heysham F.C. plays it's football in the North Lancs and District Football League.

Before Heyshams first season back in the league the club ran into a major problem. Although being on the local councils list for a home ground to play our football on, it wasn't guarenteed we would be given one. The only ground available was Peel Avenue, the only problem with this venue is that it hadn't been used for some time and the changing rooms had fallen into a very poor state and had been heavily vandalised. If we were to take part in league the coming season then the Peel Avenue changing rooms would have to be brought back up to a condition deemed fit by the leagues management committee. The local council at this time were in no postion to help with funding, so it was down to us. After the contract was signed and the keys for the changing rooms were handed over work began refurbishing the run down changing rooms. Work on the changing rooms continued right through the summer of 2005 and were completed in time with just 2 weeks before the start of the 2005/06 season. Yes!! we were in!! and looking forward to a new chapter of Heysham Football Club.

In our 1st season back in the nlfl in the 4th division we finishend a respectable 4th behind Bowerham, Furness Rovers and Bolton le sands reserves.

At the beginning of 2006/07 we moved ground due to poor drainage at Peel Avenue and ongoing vandalism of the changing rooms. We moved to play our home games at King Georges playing fields of Lordsome Road and now get changed in Heysham High School, who's changing facilities are second to non.

In the season 2006/07 we did the 'double' finishing as league champions and winning a exciting league cup final at Lancasters City's ground Giant Axe against Bentham reserves winning 4-2.
