Higham FC Newsletter Nov 08
HIGHAM FC NEWSLETTER
November 2008
Welcome to all our new members since the last Newsletter. Hopefully, all members are enjoying training and matches – just be sure you are warmly dressed!!
The Under 8s have had a lively start to their season with a win and 2 draws – and a few losses. They are playing well and working hard on improving their skills.
The Under 11s Hotshots have played 6 and won 6 but lost in their Cup match against very strong opposition. Keep up the good work, lads.
The Under 11s Mighty are finding it difficult in a very strong division. They are playing some good football and improving each week.
The Under 12s have had a disappointing start as the results don’t mirror their good performances. They won the Cup match but drew 2 and lost 4 league games.
The Youth team received permission from Tamworth League to postpone a few matches as they were badly depleted by injuries. Hopefully there will be enough players to fulfill matches this month as some of the injured players have recovered. Fortunately, we have a few new players to register this week.

Respect
Players, coaches and parents/spectators have been signing the FA Respect forms this week. We all hope that, if all clubs follow these codes of conduct, the game will benefit from this effort. The Club has ordered new “Respect” barriers for U11s and U12s. The U8 and Youth teams will continue to use the cones. All spectators should remain behind these lines to allow managers and linesmen to move freely along the sidelines. It is easier to see the full pitch if you are standing back from the line!
Fundraising and Social Events
Sunday November 30th – Christmas Party at Marston Stadium, Hinckley (Hinckley United ground) from 5.30 to 8.00pm. Alikazam will entertain all with a comedy magic show, balloon modeling, disco and games. As we provide the food for the evening, someone will be contacting you, very soon, to ask for a donation towards the “spread”. We would also like to ask you to bring a raffle prize. As there will be a quiz, could you also bring pens with you! A big thank you in advance, as you always give so generously.
Dinner at N Warks & Hinckley College How about a 5 course dinner for about £15?? Watch this space for more info – it will be early in 2009.
Club Website
The club website is a very useful way of communicating with all members and giving other interested persons any information they require about the club. It will be updated regularly and we would like participation from everyone in the club. The address is www.highamfc.co.uk
The Tamworth League website will show results for 11 a side teams after 9pm on Sundays. http://full-time.thefa.com then insert name of league and follow age-group prompts.
Good Luck to all players in your respective leagues – enjoy the games and do your best!
Yours in sport
