Season Archive

2010/2011

Season 2010/11 – Sammy and Oz lead the lads to Silverware.
It was only a matter of time and this season has proved to be it, with HFC winning the league 5 title and the Chatsworth Cup.
We won 25 games out of 27 this season, drawing against Poolsbrook on two occasions.
The league final stats were:
P: 22, W 20, D 2, L 0, F 107, A 26, GD +81, Pts 62
The club record of 21 goals in a season (Held by Jason Foster) was smashed by two people, Nathan Whitehead and Keano but it was Nathan with 33 goals who took the accolade of top goal scorer with Keano one behind in a fantastic first season for the youngster.
Keano took both awards home at the presentation evening, winning the Managers Player of the Year and also the Players Player of the Year.
With the league title wrapped up by March HFC went looking for more silverware and the Chatsworth Cup in particular. In an evenly contested game, HFC were eventually Winners after Jermoe Wilks scored the winning goal in the 2 v 1 win.
The bad lads chart was quite even this year with last year’s winner Jamie Simpson in contention with 3 yellows along with Jason Foster but Captain Andrew Milburn takes it home with 2 yellows and 1 red.
It was Andrew Milburn who was the only player in the squad that didn’t find the net after Goal Keeper Bruno smashed home a penalty against Devonshire. Bruno had a fantastic season himself only conceding 26 goals in the league – 10 clean sheets.
Special thanks go to Mandy, Martin Bruno and the Highfield Pub.
