Short on numbers, the second team failed to field a full team for their Rubber Crumb match, starting their match against Collingwood B with just eight players. Fresher Grace arrived to bolster the troops, and made a huge difference. Though absolutely hammered by their opponents, the girls worked hard in what was admittedly an exercise in damage limitation. Captain Caroline Harris made some fantastic saves, whilst Rosy McGe looked like a seasoned professional in what was just her second match. Industrious running from Diya Sagar and a solid display from Jess Gordon at the back were two of the many positives to take from what, due to the circumstances, was more of a training exercise than a genuine competitive game of football. Hild Bede came close to scoring on occasion, with Diya very nearly scoring from a beautifully floated corner, and a long-range shot bouncing off the top of the cross-bar. Ten goals were shipped in total, though with two players less than the opposition and the majority of the team being new to football, there was a lot to be proud of.
