Report

Town's recent good unbeaten run in the league cruelly came to an end at far flung Holyhead.

Missing a couple of first teamers, Town were confident of getting something out of the game at League Leaders Holyhead, and despite going a goal down midway through the first half, Town quickly equalised as recent new signing Sam Jones got his first league goal for the club since returning from Rhydymwyn. Shortly after, Holywell harshly had Wayne Edwards sent off when in fairness, the Holyhead player should have been sent off as well. The teams went in at half time all square.

Both teams tried desperatly for the winner and both teams were playing excellent football. Steve Thomas going close for the wellmen before Tony Roebuck gave us the lead on 80 minutes to make it 2-1.

Holyhead threw everything at Town, and the equaliser finally came just before the 90 minute mark and to make it worse for Holywell, Holyhead snatched the winner 5 minutes into stoppage time.

The result was very harsh on the Wellmen who played some great football, and deserved at least a point from the game.

Holywell now face bottom club Caernarfon on Saturday at Halkyn Road.

  • No scheduled fixtures.
